The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Lead the purchasing team to plan goods and services purchased against demand plan, inventory levels as required based on requestors/stakeholder requirements. Participate in cross functional project team activities to ensure that high value/long-term purchasing agreements. Identify alternative sources, and work in collaboration with stakeholders to introduce as applicable. Establish, develop, and maintain effective supplier relationships and hold regular review meetings to monitor supplier performance. Address and resolve any supplier-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner. Understand spend and identify and support the procurement team with cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals. Conduct routine market monitoring and business continuity assessment of suppliers and supply chains. Develop, introduce, and apply strategies to minimise business risk. Achieve agreed savings targets by challenging current cost base, benchmarking, and tender activity as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Must be an experienced Purchasing Supervisor ideally within a regulated industry.
  • Must have previous experience managing and developing a team.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing supplier improvement frameworks, leading to significant performance improvements and cost savings.
  • Must have experience of buying goods and services within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must understand Supply Chain and ERP / MRP systems - with at least 2 years as a system user.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, secure bids, and evaluate requests for quotations.
  • Ability to read and understand technical material, such as engineering specifications or Statements of Work (SOWs).
