Rate:

  • Process Engineer: £40–£50/hour (Umbrella)
  • Senior Process Engineer: £50–£60/hour (Umbrella)
  • Principal Process Engineer: £55–£70/hour (Umbrella)

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking Process Engineers at multiple levels (Engineer, Senior, and Principal) to join a leading UK-based nuclear engineering organisation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile, complex nuclear and clean energy projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities (Depending on Level)

  • Process Engineer (Mid-Level): Support technical activities including calculations, models, drawings, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design procedures. Produce technical specifications and participate in design reviews and hazard studies (e.g. HAZOP). Review technical queries, concessions, and support hazard identification activities.
  • Senior Process Engineer: Lead delivery of engineering and technical tasks on small-to-medium projects. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers. Develop and review specifications, design documents, and technical scopes. Liaise with clients, provide project support throughout all phases and ensure the design intent is maintained.
  • Principal Process Engineer: Lead multi-disciplinary teams and provide subject matter expertise on major projects. Oversee technical delivery, resource planning, and stakeholder management. Perform verification and approval of technical outputs including calculations, reports, and design specifications. Contribute to business development, learning from experience (LfE) initiatives, and promote best practice across the business.

Requirements

  • All Roles: Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline. Demonstrable experience in process engineering within complex project environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Active SC clearance is mandatory.
  • Senior/Principal Roles Additional: Chartered Engineer (or working towards), with relevant institution membership (e.g., IChemE). Proven leadership experience in engineering delivery teams. Experience across a range of project stages including concept, design, and EPC. Ability to produce and peer-review high-level technical documentation.
