An established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join its London-based team. The role involves managing a portfolio of complex personal tax clients, supervising junior team members, and working closely with senior colleagues to deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services. The firm offers a collaborative working environment, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Requirements
- CTA qualified or equivalent, with post-qualification experience.
- Experience gained within a private client/personal tax practice.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and support junior staff.
- Experience managing a client portfolio, including compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities.
- Good IT skills; familiarity with tax software (e.g. Digita) is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior tax colleagues and the wider team to achieve objectives and maintain a positive team culture.
- Liaise with and meet clients to understand their needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Prepare personal, partnership, and trust tax returns for a portfolio of more complex clients.
- Review tax returns, technical work, and advice prepared by junior team members.
- Identify tax planning opportunities, advise clients, and support implementation of agreed strategies.
- Assist with and respond to HMRC enquiries and compliance reviews and collaborate with other teams on ad-hoc advisory work as required.
