An established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join its London-based team. The role involves managing a portfolio of complex personal tax clients, supervising junior team members, and working closely with senior colleagues to deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services. The firm offers a collaborative working environment, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Requirements
CTA qualified or equivalent, with post-qualification experience.
Experience gained within a private client/personal tax practice.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and support junior staff.
Experience managing a client portfolio, including compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities.
Good IT skills; familiarity with tax software (e.g. Digita) is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with senior tax colleagues and the wider team to achieve objectives and maintain a positive team culture.
Liaise with and meet clients to understand their needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
Prepare personal, partnership, and trust tax returns for a portfolio of more complex clients.
Review tax returns, technical work, and advice prepared by junior team members.
Identify tax planning opportunities, advise clients, and support implementation of agreed strategies.
Assist with and respond to HMRC enquiries and compliance reviews and collaborate with other teams on ad-hoc advisory work as required.
