Role: Payroll Specialist Location: Portsmouth Duration: 18-month fixed-term contract Salary: £40,000 DOE ARM are delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the recruitment of a Payroll Specialist on an initial 18 month fixed term contract basis. The Payroll Specialist is required to support an insourced payroll with an estimate employee headcount of 1,700. Responsibilities: Processing the day-to-day UK payrolls, ensuring appropriate liaison and coverage with the team. Working alongside the Senior Payroll Specialist to manage timely delivery of payroll deliverables. Process the monthly payroll per the calendars each month. Checking and maintaining accuracy of employee records where appropriate. Calculations of all statutory payments. Manual calculations of gross to NET overpayments. Process adjustments such as reversals, returned overpayments and ad hoc payments. Carry out reconciliations such as ensuring the FPS balances to payroll results. Validate and action payment requests via the Payroll SharePoint Workflow Tool such as KIT day payments, standby allowances etc. Requirements: Experience with insourced end to end payroll. A thorough understanding of all current payroll legislation. Ability to carry out manual payroll calculations to support validations. Data collation, organisation and analytical skills. Possesses a high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines in a fast paced, complex environment. Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and ability to carry out lookups/pivot table activities for analysis.
