An experienced Transport Planner is required to join a Strategic Transportation team within a local authority environment. This is a key role supporting the delivery of transport strategy and providing technical input into the planning process.

The Role

  • Review and negotiate Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans submitted as part of planning applications.
  • Provide formal written comments and recommendations.
  • Attend and contribute at Planning Committee.
  • Support the development of transport strategies.
  • Represent the authority at stakeholder meetings.

  • Develop and support transport strategies and policies.
  • Review and negotiate transport documentation linked to planning applications.
  • Provide technical advice to planning colleagues.
  • Attend Planning Committee.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Transport Planning, Planning or related discipline.
  • Proven experience reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Experience attending Planning Committee.
  • Strong report writing and negotiation skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of transport policy, planning processes and highways standards.

Desirable

  • Experience of strategic transport modelling.
