A leading shipping company with a global presence is recruiting for an Operations Superintendent to join their team in London. As an Operations Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on the Operational, Navigational, Cargo / Ballast handling and Mooring related activities.

Duties will include:

  • Manage and supervise marine operations for assigned vessels, including navigation, cargo handling, ballast, mooring, and compliance with safety management systems and international regulations.
  • Conduct global vessel visits to monitor condition and crew performance.
  • Respond to operational correspondence, review voyage and cargo plans, liaise with charterers and principals, and coordinate with agents, P&I Clubs, and inspection bodies.
  • Provide guidance on navigational practices and ensure daily tracking of vessel movements.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Personnel Department on officer appointments, conduct interviews and appraisals for senior deck positions, and provide briefings and debriefings for Masters.
  • Support training, performance evaluation, and career development.
  • Participate in emergency response, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Assist with inspections, budgeting, and maintenance planning.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and contribute to safety and quality initiatives.

To be considered for this position you will have sailed as a Chief Officer or above and sailed on tankers.
