An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Officer to join a busy Development Control team on a 3-month rolling contract.

The Role

  • Managing a varied caseload of planning applications.
  • Preparing reports and recommendations under delegated powers and for Planning Committee.
  • Negotiating with applicants, consultees and stakeholders.
  • Assisting with planning appeals and enforcement matters.
  • Monitoring developments and discharging planning conditions.
  • Negotiating Section 106 Agreements.
  • Providing professional planning advice to customers and stakeholders.

About You

  • Experience in Development Control within Local Government or the public sector.
  • Knowledge of planning legislation, policy and development management processes.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Eligibility for Chartered Membership of the RTPI (or ability to achieve this within 12 months).
  • A current driving licence and access to suitable transport, or alternative means of travel.
