An experienced Transport Planner is required to join a Strategic Transportation team within a local authority environment. This is a key role supporting the delivery of transport strategy and providing technical input into the planning process.

The Role

  • You will review and negotiate Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans submitted as part of planning applications, provide formal written comments and recommendations, and attend and contribute at Planning Committee.
  • You will also support the development of transport strategies and represent the authority at stakeholder meetings.

  • Strong report writing and negotiation skills
  • Detailed knowledge of transport policy, planning processes and highways standards

Desirable

  • Experience of strategic transport modelling
