Our client, a rapidly growing and reputable contractor, is seeking an experienced Plumbing Site Supervisor to oversee operations on a high-profile care home development in Peterborough. Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively contributing to the risk and opportunity register, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and maximise potential gains.
  • Overseeing and managing preliminaries, ensuring all aspects are controlled effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily diaries and weekly progress reports.
  • Reviewing design drawings for buildability and coordination; raising RFIs where necessary to ensure clarity and precision.
  • Managing the flow of subcontractor design information, coordinating with the Project Manager to align with project timelines.
  • Collaborating with subcontractors to agree on long- and short-term programmes, and monitoring performance to ensure adherence.
  • Assessing project progress against the contract programme and working with the Project Manager on recovery plans when required.
  • Conducting material take-offs from mechanical drawings within appropriate timeframes.
  • Organising and overseeing the site team’s activities, including labour allocation, attendance monitoring, and productivity tracking.
  • Ensuring mechanical and plumbing works are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Upholding high standards in the installation, quality control, and safety compliance of mechanical works.
  • Monitoring and managing onsite plant, equipment, and materials, including effective stock control.
  • Overseeing all site documentation and contributing to efficiency initiatives.
  • Liaising professionally with the main contractor, other trades, and subcontractors, maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Acting as the primary contact between the site and the Project Manager/subcontractors.
  • Managing on-site welfare, ensuring cleanliness, health & safety, and PPE compliance.
  • Conducting H&S assessments, tracking actions to completion.
  • Maintaining attendance reports, issuing and controlling safety permits.
  • Coordinating with the HSE Adviser to manage site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Leading the snagging and handover process, ensuring all final details meet the expectations of the principal contractor.

The ideal candidate will hold SSSTS or SMSTS qualification and bring proven experience in delivering plumbing projects to a high standard, ideally within a fast-paced, multi-contractor environment.
