Field Engineer – Navigation & Communications Systems

Location: London Area / Kent

Salary: £60,168 per annum + 26% allowances (£75,811 total package)

Full time, on‑call rota (1 week in 4)

As a Field Engineer, you will work as part of a team supporting and maintaining operationally critical systems, with a primary focus on RADAR, VHF and microwave technologies. The role combines hands‑on engineering, problem solving, and working at height across multiple locations.

  • Maintain and support a range of navigation and communications systems
  • Contribute to the planning, installation and support of operationally critical equipment
  • Ensure existing assets are regularly maintained and available for service 24/7
  • Take part in an on‑call rota (approximately 1 week in 4), including out‑of‑hours and weekend working
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while working effectively both independently and as part of a team

Requirements:

  • Degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands‑on experience in a comparable engineering role
  • Experience designing, maintaining or repairing electrical, electronic and computer‑based systems
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation and maintain fitness levels to work safely
