  • Service Designer
  • 3 Month contract – Inside IR35 – up to £580 per day
  • London based – hybrid working – 2-3 days onsite
  • Government sector – must have current and active SC Clearance to be considered

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and deliver service design for public service in Discovery,
  • Apply a range of methods—e. g. stakeholder interviews, contextual inquiry
  • Synthesise findings into clear, actionable outputs such as problem statements, user journeys, blueprints and flows
  • Translate insights into strategic priorities and design recommendations that inform product strategy and roadmap decisions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams – User Researchers, Interaction Designers (UX / UI), Business Analysts and Technical leads to ensure materials are insight driven.
  • Communicate findings to varied audiences—through visual artefacts, presentations, and stakeholder playbacks
  • Facilitate workshops, playback sessions and show-and-tells to drive cross-functional understanding and alignment
  • To map the whole problem and think beyond the confides of the brief yet be cognisant of the challenge at hand

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent experience advocating for and working within GDS service standards.
  • Create engaging narratives and stories based on research findings to communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong portfolio or case studies showing research that informed successful service or product outcomes
  • Incredible and demonstrable experience creating user journey maps or E2E diagrams.
  • Strong storytelling skills with an ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
