The Role
We are looking for a skilled Toolmaker/Inspection Engineer to join an expanding Calibration Department within Asset Performance Delivery (APD). You will be responsible for inspecting, testing and calibrating tools and equipment to ensure accuracy, compliance and adherence to required engineering standards. The role will support both internal operational teams and external commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate, inspect and test tools and measuring equipment.
- Verify measurements against required specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation.
- Support internal teams with calibration requirements.
- Provide calibration services to external customers.
- Identify equipment requiring adjustment, repair or further investigation.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in tool calibration or engineering measurement.
- Background in toolmaking, machining, precision engineering or inspection.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and working to engineering tolerances.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and ensure equipment accuracy.
- Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or maintenance environment.
Desirable
- Calibration or metrology qualifications.
- Experience within rail, manufacturing or engineering.
- Inspection or quality assurance experience.
- Apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Machining or Mechanical Engineering.
