We’re looking for an experienced Highways / Street Lighting Electrician to join a reliable, steadily growing contractor working on a mix of highways maintenance, upgrades and improvement schemes across the UK.
If you’re after steady work, with a growing company that values people who do a good job, this is a solid opportunity to step into a role with consistency, support and the chance to build on what you already know.
What you’ll be doing:
- Street lighting maintenance, repairs and LED upgrades
- Column installs, replacements and isolations
- SWA jointing/terminations and cut‑out upgrades
- Electrical testing, inspection and fault‑finding
- Working on highways and local authority schemes as part of a small, dependable team
- Some night work and occasional working away (accommodation provided)
The work is varied but familiar — proper hands‑on highways electrical work alongside a team that knows the job.
What you need:
- HERS ECS card (essential)
- Experience in highways or street‑lighting electrical work
- G39, 18th Edition, IPAF, 714/2391
- A good attitude, safety‑first mindset and reliability
- Willingness to pick up nights or stay away when a project requires it
What you’ll get:
- £48k+ starting salary
- Regular overtime
- 38 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Company van + fuel card
- Healthcare package
- Accommodation & expenses covered when working away
- Supportive, down‑to‑earth team and long‑term stability
Location: Ideally based between Watford – Heathrow – Southampton, across the south coast to Brighton, or up towards Northampton / Birmingham.
Before you apply – please be aware:
- This role may not be the right fit if you want strictly day work with no nights at all
- You prefer to stay local only, as some travel is required
- You’re unable to stay away for short periods when needed (all accommodation is provided)
- You don’t hold the essential highways certifications (HERS ECS, G39, 18th Edition, 714/2391)
Interested? If you want consistent work, straightforward expectations, and a team that values experience, we’d like to hear from you.
