Location: Gravesend – Hybrid
Contract: Fixed-Term (24 months)
Department: IT – Navigation Systems Team

About the Role
As our Health, Safety, and Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Health, Safety, and Compliance documentation is accurate, relevant, and embedded across the Navigation Systems Team. You’ll lead audits, develop procedures, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and review H&S documentation (risk assessments, COSHH, method statements, etc.)
- Create and enhance processes to manage operational risks
- Conduct site visits to understand activities and inform documentation
- Deliver inductions and site briefings
- Manage contractor compliance and documentation
- Lead audits and drive non-conformance resolution
- Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent risk management
What We’re Looking For
- A-Level (or equivalent) in IT, science, or engineering
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. SMSTS or equivalent)
- Experience in a similar role (engineering, IT, or construction)
- Full UK manual driving licence
Essential Skills
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and implement change
- Proactive, analytical, and solutions-focused mindset
- Confident using Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and ERP systems
Desirable
- Willingness to undertake Working at Height training
- Engineering/electrical qualifications
- Experience in the port industry or operational IT
