Electrical, Electronic & Software Design Engineer

About the Role

My client are looking for a proactive and adaptable engineer to join their growing team in Poole. You’ll work on the design, development, and modification of electronic systems, focusing on:

• PLC software – Writing and modifying existing code
• Microchip software – Embedded system development
• PCB design – Schematic capture, layout, and prototyping

This role requires drive and initiative – you’ll be involved in multiple areas, problem-solving, and supporting various aspects of the business.

Key Skills & Experience

• HND/Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in electrical/electronic design
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks (CANBUS)
• Strong coding skills – Writing/modifying software for PCBs and PLCs
• Proficiency in PCB design, circuit design, and fault-finding
• Understanding of regulatory standards (EMC, LVD, UL)
• Strong communication, documentation, and project management skills
