I am currently representing a world-renowned ferry operator within the United Kingdom, who are looking for Engineers with prior Pax experience and a Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC to take on the role of a 2nd Engineer / Relief Chief Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis!
As a 2nd Engineer, you will:
- Fulfil the responsibilities assigned to you by the Chief Engineer within your designated areas of duty.
- Act in alignment with your role as part of the vessel’s emergency response organisation.
- Perform maintenance tasks as instructed by the Chief Engineer, in line with the vessel’s Planned Maintenance Program.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the ship’s operational and technical procedures.
- Identify and manage all risks to the vessel, personnel, and environment, implementing suitable safeguards as necessary.
- Promptly report to the Chief Engineer any incidents, accidents, injuries, potential hazards, or deficiencies in machinery and equipment, especially safety-related items.
- Maintain familiarity with the relevant procedures, requirements, and responsibilities outlined in the Safety Management System (SMS) within the DOCMAP platform.
- Show initiative and engagement in tasks beyond your current rank to build confidence and readiness for higher responsibilities, with a proactive, hands-on approach.
For this role, you must have:
- STCW basic training + PST + PSSR + PSCRB + Designated Security Duties.
- ENG1.
- Previous experience working as an engineer onboard Ferries.
- Current residence + full right-to-work in the United Kingdom.
