- We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Technician to join a specialist marine engineering team maintaining vessels and associated shoreside infrastructure.
This is a hands‑on role focused on electrical maintenance, fault finding and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of a busy ferry service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Diagnose, fault‑find and repair electrical and electronic systems.
- Maintain vessel power systems, switchboards and docking infrastructure.
- Support PLC and control system troubleshooting.
- Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Electrical NVQ (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a marine or maritime electrical environment.
- Strong electrical maintenance, diagnostics and fault‑finding skills.
- Knowledge of marine electrical and electronic power systems.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and risk management.
Desirable
- Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) experience.
- PLC troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of DC switchboards, converter drives and marine electrical standards.
