Software Project Engineer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Project Engineer to support the technical delivery of Software Factory projects and initiatives.

You will act as the key technical interface between engineering teams and Delivery Management, coordinating technical activities, managing risks and dependencies, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Please note: Due to the sensitive nature of the work, candidates must already hold a high level of UK Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical activities across engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and technical interfaces.
  • Support project plans, technical roadmaps, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Provide technical leadership and first-level decision-making.
  • Act as the escalation point for engineering issues.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering processes and standards.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and milestone assessments.

Experience Required

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in software, systems, or platform engineering projects.
  • Software engineering experience, ideally within the aerospace & defence sector.
  • Experience in software delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and planning skills.
  • Microsoft Azure Dev Ops Certification - desirable.
