  • We are seeking an experienced

Advanced Resource Manager / Project Quality Control Engineer to support a major engineering and manufacturing project within a highly regulated environment.

This role requires a quality-focused professional with extensive experience in supplier quality management, welding inspection, manufacturing quality assurance, and inspection activities across complex engineering projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all quality control activities meet customer, project, regulatory, and company requirements while maintaining compliance with industry standards and nuclear-sector expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Supplier Management
  • Liaise with customers to understand quality assurance, quality control, and inspection requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier quality arrangements in line with project specifications.

• Assess and approve manufacturing documentation, including

  • Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
  • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Weld Schedules
  • NDT Procedures
  • Attend supplier and subcontractor kick-off meetings to ensure quality requirements are fully understood.
  • Provide expert advice on quality control risks, issues, and compliance matters.
  • Inspection & Quality Control
  • Plan, coordinate, and assign inspection activities to inspection personnel.
  • Conduct inspection assignments at supplier and manufacturing locations.
  • Perform risk assessments before inspection activities.
  • Inspect manufactured equipment and components.

• Witness key manufacturing processes, including

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Functional Testing
  • Welding Activities
  • Mechanical Inspection Activities
  • Review and endorse quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely completion and reporting of inspection activities.
  • Manage final release and acceptance of procured items.
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain and review Life Time Records (LTRs) and project data dossiers.
  • Prepare and manage project quality documentation.
  • Develop project-specific procedures and local work instructions where required.
  • Ensure quality plans incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Support contract reviews, project handovers, and quality audits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Participate in project meetings and quality reviews.
  • Act as a key quality representative across the project lifecycle.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

• Weld Inspection Qualification

  • CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2, or
  • PCL Level 2 (Weld Inspection)
  • Engineering apprenticeship supported by EITB NVQs or equivalent industry-recognised qualification.
  • Eligibility to obtain or hold UK SC Security Clearance.

Experience

  • Experience operating within Nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Proven experience working within project environments with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Experience reviewing weld schedules and associated weld procedures.

• Knowledge and practical experience of

  • Fabrication and welding processes
  • Mechanical inspection
  • Assembly and testing activities
  • Material certification review
  • NDT techniques
  • Experience supporting the manufacture, assembly, and testing of specialist engineered products or assemblies.
  • Knowledge
  • Good understanding of Nuclear Industry quality requirements.

  • Customer quality standards and expectations

Desirable Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • NDT qualifications.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor training.
  • Experience with turnkey engineering projects.
  • Exposure to supplier quality assurance programmes.
