About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced PMO Lead to establish, implement and continuously enhance project and portfolio management capabilities within a major technology delivery function.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on developing governance, reporting and portfolio management frameworks that enable successful delivery of complex technology programmes.

You will provide visibility across multiple initiatives, ensure effective governance and support senior stakeholders in making informed delivery decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain project and portfolio dashboards, reports and KPIs to provide clear visibility of delivery performance.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, resource allocation and project risks to ensure successful programme delivery.
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, including reporting standards, escalation processes and compliance controls.
  • Support portfolio prioritisation activities, ensuring projects remain aligned with organisational strategy and business objectives.
  • Act as the key interface between technology delivery, finance, procurement and wider business stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PMO processes, governance, tools and delivery best practices.
  • Provide guidance on project delivery methodologies, including Agile, Hybrid and traditional approaches.
  • Promote consistent project management standards across the portfolio.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of five years' experience in PMO, project governance or portfolio management within IT or technology environments.
  • Proven experience supporting complex or large-scale technology programmes.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and reporting skills with the ability to present meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience using project management and reporting tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Power BI or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across multiple business functions and leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify delivery risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within fast-paced delivery environments.
