An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Officer to join a busy Development Control team on a 3-month rolling contract.
The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of planning applications.
- Preparing reports and recommendations under delegated powers and for Planning Committee.
- Negotiating with applicants, consultees and stakeholders.
- Assisting with planning appeals and enforcement matters.
- Monitoring developments and discharging planning conditions.
- Negotiating Section 106 Agreements.
- Providing professional planning advice to customers and stakeholders.
About You
- Experience in Development Control within Local Government or the public sector.
- Knowledge of planning legislation, policy and development management processes.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Eligibility for Chartered Membership of the RTPI (or ability to achieve this within 12 months).
- A current driving licence and access to suitable transport, or alternative means of travel.
