ARM are working with a leading UK renewable energy developer to recruit a Project Engineer to support the delivery of onshore wind projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised engineer to join a technically strong in-house team, contributing to projects across the development, construction and operational phases of wind farm delivery.
The Role
Working within the technical team, the Project Engineer will provide high-quality engineering and design support, helping to optimise project layouts, manage costs, reduce risk through design, and ensure projects meet the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle and would suit someone looking to develop a long-term career in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing optimised wind farm layout drawings, including access modifications, swept path analysis, and planning/legal drawings
- Estimating and tracking project costs, with a focus on reducing costs through effective design
- Supporting projects in development and under construction, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Quality standards
- Identifying and reducing technical and construction risk through practical and financially viable design solutions
- Providing technical input to early-stage and pre-planning projects
- Procuring and coordinating third-party technical services and consultants
- Supporting the continuous improvement of internal design processes and procedures
Essential Requirements
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and vehicle tracking software
- Basic knowledge of onshore wind development and construction processes
- A methodical, accurate and detail-focused approach to work
- Awareness of CDM Regulations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload
- Willingness to travel to sites across the UK when required
Desirable Skills & Experience
- In-depth knowledge of transport and construction methods for onshore wind projects
- Familiarity with BoP (Balance of Plant) and TSA (Turbine Supply Agreement) contracts
- Experience using Civil 3D and InfraWorks
- Surveying and/or setting-out experience
