Role Overview

Supporting the Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer in delivering safe, reliable and efficient railway asset performance. The role involves leading technicians, ensuring compliance, and providing technical support within a live operational rail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support signalling & telecoms technicians to meet performance targets
  • Monitor asset reliability, safety, and maintenance delivery
  • Provide technical guidance, inspections, and fault investigations
  • Manage safety compliance, assurance, and non-conformance processes
  • Review and approve method statements and work plans
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and systems
  • Undertake staff surveillance and quality/asset checks

Essential Requirements

  • Strong signalling/telecoms engineering experience in rail
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes, standards, and safety compliance
  • Experience in operational railway environments
  • Ability to manage incidents, failures, and technical investigations
  • IRSE licence (signalling)
  • HNC/HND or equivalent
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
