Senior / Lead Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer

Contract

12 month project (3 months initially)

Location

UK-based, predominantly remote with occasional client-site travel

Security

Candidates will be required to successfully complete

BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) checks as part of the onboarding process.

The Role

We are looking for experienced

Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Developers to join a high-profile public-sector transformation programme.

There are opportunities at both

Senior and Lead level , with the level determined by your technical experience, delivery capability and leadership background.

You will work on

Dynamics 365 Customer Service solutions, alongside Power Pages, Power Automate and Azure services, delivering robust solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing and extending

Dynamics 365 Customer Service , including model-driven apps, forms, Business Rules, Business Process Flows, security roles and Dataverse.

  • Developing and maintaining

Power Pages sites, including Liquid templates, web templates, Table Permissions and authentication.

  • Building

Power Automate flows for business process automation and integration, including appropriate error handling and retry behaviour.

  • Developing

Azure Functions to extend Dynamics 365 and integrate with external systems.

  • Developing

Dynamics 365 Plug-ins, Custom APIs and PCF controls where configuration alone cannot meet requirements.

  • Working with APIs and integration patterns between Dynamics 365, Dataverse and external systems.
  • Taking ownership of features from refinement through development, release and defect resolution.
  • Working with

Azure Dev Ops , source control and deployment pipelines.

  • Applying an "out-of-the-box first" approach and challenging unnecessary customisation.
  • Identifying technical risks and debt and contributing to technical solutions and improvements.
  • Working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Solution Architects and wider technical teams.
  • Communicating technical concepts and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • For Lead-Level Candidates

Lead candidates will additionally be expected to

  • Lead the development workstream and act as a senior technical point of contact.
  • Provide technical direction and break solution designs into practical development tasks.
  • Lead, mentor and support developers across different experience levels.
  • Allocate development work against backlog priorities.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain development standards.
  • Support defect triage, root-cause analysis and technical decision making.
  • Work closely with the Solution Architect to translate designs into buildable solutions.
  • Take ownership of technical quality, consistency and delivery across the development team.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Strong hands-on experience with

Dynamics 365 Customer Service .

  • Strong

Power Platform development experience, particularly Power Automate and Power Pages.

  • Strong knowledge of

Dataverse and model-driven applications.

  • C# and . NET development experience, including Dynamics 365 Plug-ins and Custom APIs.
  • Practical experience developing and deploying

Azure Functions .

  • Experience with Dynamics 365 / Dataverse integrations and APIs.
  • Experience working with Azure Dev Ops and source control.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.

Ability to successfully complete BPSS checks prior to commencing the assignment.

  • For Lead-level positions, we are particularly interested in candidates with:
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring Dynamics 365 development teams.
  • Experience with code reviews and setting development standards.
  • Experience translating architectural designs into development tasks.
  • Strong technical ownership and stakeholder management experience.

Desirable

  • Experience with Azure integration services such as

Logic Apps, Service Bus or API Management .

  • Dataverse security design, including business units, column-level security and hierarchy security.
  • Previous public-sector delivery experience.
  • Experience working with GDS web portals and WCAG accessibility requirements.
