Transport Planner
Location: Doncaster - Hybrid
Contract: 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £40 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a local authority on a 3-month contract.
The successful candidate will support the transport and highways function, providing transport planning advice across development, policy and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support transport strategies, policies and programmes.
- Review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Provide advice on transport and highways standards.
- Manage consultations relating to planning applications.
- Work with developers, contractors, internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Represent the authority at regional and national transport meetings.
- Support transport projects, budgets and programme delivery.
- Monitor the quality and performance of suppliers and contractors.
- Prepare reports and present information to senior officers, committees and stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with transport policy, legislation and highways standards.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Planning, Transport or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of transport planning, highways and planning policy.
- Experience delivering transport projects and programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with developers, local authorities and other partners.
- Good understanding of project and budget management.
- Experience preparing complex reports and presenting to senior stakeholders or committees.
