CNC Mechanical Fitter- Workshop-Based Role
Location: Acton Works | Pay Rate: Β£39.24 per hour | Start: ASAP
We are working with a leading engineering organisation on behalf of a highly skilled workshop team, who are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter / CNC operative to join their rolling stock upgrade projects. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components and systems following detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, ruler) accurately
- Apply torque using torque wrenches and follow witness marking procedures
- Operate and maintain machinery and workshop equipment, including overhead cranes (desirable)
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing workshop team
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
- Experience using torque wrenches and measuring tools
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Rail or heavy engineering experience
- CNC experience, with programming knowledge considered a plus
- Component assembly and system maintenance
- Experience with overhead cranes and workshop equipment
