Senior Tester - AI & Test Automation
Initial 6 months contract
Hybrid/London - 2-3 Days per week on site
£Market rate (Inside IR35)
My client, a well known retail bank are looking for a Senior Tester to support the transition towards an AI-enabled testing and quality assurance function. The role combines hands‑on testing, test automation, risk assessment and validation of AI-generated test suites across critical enterprise applications. You will help maintain test coverage, ensure automated testing outputs are reliable and support the development and deployment of AI-driven testing capabilities across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support testing service transitions and knowledge transfer.
- Assess application risk and validate AI-generated test suites.
- Maintain test coverage across APIs, integrations, UI and end‑to‑end journeys.
- Investigate test failures, identify defects and resolve flaky tests.
- Provide test evidence and support release sign‑off.
- Work with AI developers to build and deploy AI-driven testing agents.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Senior Software Testing roles.
- Risk-based testing and release assurance experience.
- Hands‑on API, integration and UI testing.
- Experience with Playwright or similar automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to assess AI-generated tests for accuracy, coverage and reliability.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting service transitions and knowledge transfer.
Ideal Candidate: A technically strong Senior Tester with experience in automation and risk-based assurance, who is comfortable working with emerging AI testing technologies and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
