Our client, a leading organisation within the rail industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Mechanical & Electrical Fitter to join their team at Acton Railway Engineering Works, supporting S Stock upgrades.
The Role
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fitting, assembly and modification work.
- Read and follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Carry out electrical installation, wiring and associated fitting work.
- Correctly set and use torque wrenches, including witness marking.
- Use basic measuring equipment including Vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Work with overhead cranes and other workshop equipment, with training provided.
- Maintain and modify complex electrical and mechanical systems.
About You
- Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Fitter, Electrical Technician or Mechanical & Electrical Fitter.
- Strong electrical fitting/assembly experience with a mechanical aptitude.
- Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
- Rail, rolling stock or heavy engineering experience is highly desirable.
- Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.
