£40,000 - £ 60,000 depending on experience.

ARM are supporting on an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Standardisation Engineer to join a pioneering clean energy programme focused on delivering innovative low-carbon power solutions.

This role sits within the Standardisation & Standard Parts team, which is responsible for reducing product variation, improving engineering efficiency, and supporting deployment across a complex, highly regulated engineering environment.

You will play a key role in shaping standardisation strategy across multidisciplinary engineering teams, helping ensure products and components are repeatable, cost-effective, and aligned with programme-wide objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive standardisation strategies across components, systems, and plant-wide engineering activities.
  • Promote product and process consistency through standard rules, tools, and procedures.
  • Review engineering artefacts to identify opportunities to reduce variation and improve repeatability.
  • Support optimisation of engineering workflows, improving efficiency and reducing resource and time requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard parts catalogues and associated engineering tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and governance relating to standardisation principles and decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to align design approaches and resolve variation issues.
  • Support integration and consistency across multiple engineering disciplines and delivery partners.
  • What You'll Bring
  • Experience in engineering standardisation, configuration control, product optimisation, or related disciplines.
  • Background in complex engineering environments such as nuclear, energy, aerospace, automotive, defence, rail, or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, component interfaces, and product lifecycle considerations.
  • Heavy mechanical product knowledge.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Must be a driven individual who is able to take full accountability for delivering set work packages.

Experience Required

  • MEng Degree or HNC with proven experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering data management systems and standard parts catalogues.
  • Familiarity with regulated industries and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience working with suppliers and external engineering partners.
  • Six Sigma is desirable but not essential.
