Location: Manchester

Hybrid Working: 3 days per week onsite

Contract Length: 8 Months

Rate: £550 - £600 per day

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (E P) to support the successful delivery of major rail infrastructure projects within a high-profile national programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an established engineering professional with strong Overhead Line Equipment (OLE/OCS) and/or Third Rail experience to work on complex multidisciplinary rail projects in a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the application of engineering standards across design, construction, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, rail standards, and engineering assurance requirements
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Project Engineers and wider project teams
  • Review contractor competence, engineering processes, and safety management systems
  • Support construction activities, commissioning, testing, and site supervision
  • Undertake engineering reviews, audits, and risk assessments including HAZOP activities
  • Ensure environmental and CDM compliance across all project activities
  • Participate in accident investigations where required
  • Monitor project delivery against engineering, quality, and safety standards
