Job Description

Job Title: Rolling Stock Engineer (brake pneumatic systems)

Location: Hybrid – London (Palestra)

Rate: Up to £509 p/day (DOE) – Umbrella

Duration: 6 months (sick cover)

Overview:We are seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Engineer to provide cover for a 6-month period. The role is a hybrid mix of office-based and remote working, with occasional access to depots. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong experience in brake pneumatic systems and a paperwork-focused approach to engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review schematics, technical reports, and investigation documents.

  • Apply a documentation-based mindset and understanding of engineering principles.

  • Support investigations and provide technical input relating to brake pneumatic systems.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to established processes.

  • Liaise with depot teams and other stakeholders as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in brake pneumatic systems.

  • Strong technical knowledge with a paperwork/documentation focus.

  • Ability to interpret schematics, reports, and investigation findings.

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and processes in rolling stock or transport environments.

  • Depot/WSI access is advantageous (if already held).
