Product Delivery Manager - Digital Engineering Capabilities
Contract: Initial 6 Months
Day Rate: Circa £600 Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid (Reading as required)

We are looking for an experienced Product Delivery Manager - Digital Engineering Capabilities to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of digital engineering capabilities supporting aircraft concept design, master geometry, aerodynamics, and flight dynamics.
This is a strategic role at the intersection of aerospace engineering, digital engineering, and technology delivery.
You will be responsible for ensuring the digital tools, environments, and processes used by engineering teams are fit for purpose, integrated, and continuously evolving to meet programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the delivery and continuous improvement of digital capabilities supporting air vehicle concept and configuration development.
- Lead the deployment, optimisation, and lifecycle management of 3D CAD, aerodynamic analysis, and configuration management environments.
- Develop product roadmaps, delivery plans, and prioritised backlogs aligned with engineering and programme objectives.
- Support the development of technical baselines, methodologies, and work instructions for digital engineering solutions.
- Ensure integration with the wider Digital Thread, enabling data continuity and interoperability across engineering domains and enterprise systems.
- Capture, challenge, and consolidate requirements from engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of new digital tools and processes through training, change management, and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Establish appropriate data models, naming conventions, metadata standards, and access controls.
- Coordinate delivery across internal teams, suppliers, and system integrators.
- Monitor service performance, technical debt, risks, and dependencies across digital engineering environments.
- Lead incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
- Support technology evaluations, proof-of-concept activity, and strategic tool selection.
- Manage vendor relationships, licences, performance, and delivery to ensure cost-effective and compliant solutions.
- Drive innovation in automation, model-based workflows, and aerodynamic simulation.
- Balance immediate delivery requirements with longer-term architecture, scalability, and data strategy.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience delivering digital engineering capabilities, toolchains, and lifecycle environments.
- Experience within the Aerospace and/or Defence industry, with an understanding of regulatory and assurance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Digital Engineering, Model-Based Engineering, and Digital Thread principles.
- Experience with digital environments supporting concept design, 3D CAD, master geometry, aerodynamics, and/or configuration management.
- Proven experience managing complex delivery involving multiple partners, suppliers, and distributed teams.
- Strong project, programme, or service management experience. ITIL, APM, or PRINCE2 qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience with SAFe or Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of digital thread, digital continuity, and model-based workflows.
- Experience managing suppliers and system integrators for CAD, aerodynamic analysis, and configuration management platforms.
- Familiarity with advanced simulation environments and multidisciplinary engineering tool integration.
- Experience delivering digital transformation and business change within engineering organisations.
