We are recruiting for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to provide specialist planning advice across Development Management and Planning Policy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of major and complex planning applications.
- Provide expert planning advice and support on policy matters.
- Support the development and review of planning policies, evidence documents and strategies.
- Advise on CIL/S106 matters and developer negotiations.
- Represent the organisation at planning appeals, examinations and hearings where required.
- Support planning enforcement and wider service delivery.
Essential Experience:
- Planning qualification to degree level and RTPI membership (or working towards).
- Local Authority planning experience.
- Experience with major applications, policy development and/or appeals.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Previous supervisory experience desirable.
