As the Project Planner you will work with a market‑leading Defence and Aerospace company, supporting their Customisation and Development departments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Customisation and Development departments in creating and maintaining resourced project plans, ensuring compliance with project control standards and procedures.
  • Monitor progress against plans and develop recovery strategies as necessary, escalating to the Project Manager where required.
  • Provide timely, accurate reporting on progress against project plans to the PMO Manager and Project Managers.
  • Ensure that change control, risk management and cost‑controlling procedures are followed by Project Managers.
  • Participate in planning and preparation of project management events and workshops.
  • Lead projects to determine future procedures, methods and tools within the company.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Expert level experience using Primavera P6.
  • Experience across the full project development lifecycle, including formal gate reviews.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management and planning methodologies.
  • Experience in an engineering environment (design, manufacture, installation).
  • Ability to manage design disciplines to develop and maintain resourced project plans.
  • Proficiency in compiling and updating Gantt charts and understanding critical path analysis.
  • Experience with resource allocation and capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with standard reporting metrics, including KPIs such as SPI and CPI.
  • Application of risk management in project planning.
  • Ability to prioritise complex work within constrained timelines.
  • Experience with Google Suite of programmes.
