An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a growing highways team following increased capital investment in preventative highway maintenance programmes. We are seeking an experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer / Project Supervisor with strong civil engineering knowledge and hands-on experience in preventative treatments including surface dressing, micro-asphalt, and slurry surfacing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent highway maintenance schemes
- Supervise Clerks of Works and oversee contractors on site
- Ensure specification compliance, quality standards, and programme delivery
- Make sound engineering decisions relating to highways maintenance works
- Coordinate preventative maintenance activities across live projects
Essential Experience
- Preventative highway maintenance experience (surface dressing, micro-asphalt, slurry surfacing)
- Strong civil engineering and contractor management background
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience overseeing quality and specification adherence
Desirable
- Level 3 Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Local authority/highways maintenance background
- GIS familiarity and standard IT skills
