Job Description
ARM is currently in partnership with an Essex-based Renewable energy company to recruit an Electrical Design/Engineering Manager.
Our client specialises in the development, design, construction, and maintenance of renewable energy solutions, primarily ground-mount and rooftop solar with battery storage. The RoleAs Electrical Design/Engineering Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading the company's electrical design function. You will combine hands-on technical design expertise with leadership, overseeing a small but growing design team, managing third-party designers, and ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency across all projects.
You'll work closely with the senior leadership team, providing technical guidance, driving quality, and helping the business scale to the next level.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the internal electrical design team, mentoring and supporting their professional growth

Carry out and review detailed electrical designs and calculations (AC/DC cable sizing, LV AC grading studies, cabinet/connection design)

Produce and check SLDs, electrical drawings, and predesign layouts

Support G99 and G100 applications, liaising with inverter manufacturers and ensuring compliance

Design and commission communication/monitoring systems, including remote support

Oversee Bills of Materials, costings, and Scopes of Work to align technical and commercial outcomes

The Package

Salary circa £65,000 depending on experience
