6 month contract based in the Kidlington area offering £18.23ph inside IR35.

As the Stores Assistant, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.
You will be involved in:
- Engineering & Material Support: Gather, stage, and deliver parts, consumables, hardware, and tools to mechanics in active bays prior to and during maintenance shifts. Organise project kits and ensure hardware packages are complete and assigned to the correct bay or aircraft project. Return used, specialised tools to the tool crib, ensuring they are logged back in according to standard operating procedures. Act as a dedicated liaison between the parts stores, tool room, and the active bay floor to minimise engineer downtime.
- Bay Housekeeping & FOD Control: Keep designated maintenance bays, work benches, shadow boards, and tool carts clean, organised, and free of hazard. Continuously sweep, inspect, and remove Foreign Object Debris (FOD) within the immediate workspace of the bay. Dispose of waste, scrap material, and hazardous consumables (rags, sealants, etc.) in accordance with safety and environmental protocols. Wipe down support equipment (ladders, maintenance stands, ground power units) used within the bay to keep them operational and clean.
Your skillset & experience:
- Experience in an industrial, warehouse, automotive, or aviation environment.
- High awareness of safety protocols, especially regarding tool accountability and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control.
- Manual ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly throughout the shift.
- Clear communication skills to liaise effectively with engineers, stores personnel, and supervisors.
