BESS O&M Service Engineer
Location: London / Oxfordshire Sites / Hybrid
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
The Opportunity
ARM is recruiting for an experienced BESS O&M Service Engineer to support the operation, maintenance and performance optimisation of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business within the energy transition sector , ensuring BESS assets operate safely, reliably and efficiently in line with contractual requirements.
The role combines field-based site work, troubleshooting, remote operations and home working , alongside technical documentation, maintenance planning and corrective maintenance support.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on BESS systems and associated infrastructure.
Perform remote operations, diagnostics and troubleshooting .
Conduct site inspections using appropriate tools and test equipment.
Support safe operation of battery storage systems, PCS/inverters and EMS .
Ensure compliance with site-specific Health & Safety requirements .
Supervise subcontractors and ensure third-party works meet quality and compliance standards.
Support commissioning, upgrades and major repairs .
Review maintenance documentation, manuals and technical drawings.
Support development of maintenance procedures, RAMS and Method Statements .
Work with LTSA management and H&S teams on relevant procedures and documentation.
Liaise with OEM suppliers regarding maintenance procedures and technical queries.
Support preparation of annual maintenance plans for BESS projects.
Provide on-call support for urgent site issues outside normal working hours.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in BESS, Energy Storage, Renewables, Solaror the Power sector.
