Who you'll be working for: Tek-Troniks is a privately owned British manufacturer with over 30 years’ experience in temperature and humidity monitoring, calibration and validation. Its products and services help customers protect temperature-sensitive materials, maintain accurate records and demonstrate regulatory compliance. The company designs and manufactures its products in the UK, combining established technical capabilities with the accessible management structure of a small business. It already supplies regulated organisations, including NHS customers, pharmaceutical businesses and distribution facilities, and is now appointing a dedicated national salesperson to develop these markets.
Why should you join?
- Freedom to manage your territory: You’ll decide where to focus your efforts and when customer visits, demonstrations or remote meetings will best move an opportunity forward. Performance is measured through commercial results, with no prescribed weekly field-visit target.
- An established proposition with room to grow: You’ll represent proven products and services in markets where the company already has customers, with considerable scope to develop new relationships and opportunities.
- Uncapped earning potential: The commission scheme rewards both new business and qualifying repeat revenue from accounts you originate, allowing you to benefit from the relationships you build.
- A voice in the business: Working closely with senior management, you’ll help shape market priorities, sales processes and marketing activity, while feeding customer insight into future product development.
- Technical support and training: You’ll learn from the General Manager and work directly with colleagues in engineering, calibration, internal sales and production.
What the role involves: You’ll take ownership of new business development across the UK, selling an integrated range of monitoring systems, calibration and mapping services into regulated environments. This is a consultative sales role, helping customers understand how the company’s solutions can meet their operational and compliance requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and approaching prospective customers across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, laboratories and regulated distribution.
- Building relationships with technical, quality, compliance and purchasing stakeholders.
- Understanding customer requirements, arranging demonstrations and preparing appropriate proposals and quotations.
- Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to negotiation and sale.
- Developing accounts beyond the first installation, including opportunities across additional sites.
- Assessing relevant public-sector tenders and other routes to market.
- Maintaining a sustainable pipeline and contributing ideas to the company’s commercial approach.
You’ll work from home, travelling nationally when required, with occasional overnight stays. Initial training will include approximately three to four weeks working closely with the business to develop your product and market knowledge.
Person requirements: You’ll have proven technical or consultative sales experience within a regulated market, together with evidence of winning new business and managing opportunities through to completion. Your background could include medical or pharmaceutical equipment, laboratory instrumentation, environmental monitoring, calibration, validation, cold-chain technology, aseptic processing or sterile services. Direct temperature monitoring experience isn’t essential if you bring relevant sector knowledge and the ability to learn a technical portfolio.
You’ll also need:
- An understanding of quality systems, documented processes and the expectations of regulated customers.
- The confidence to discuss technical requirements and build credibility with specialist decision-makers.
- Strong prospecting, relationship-building and commercial skills.
- The judgement and self-motivation to manage a national territory independently.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and contribute ideas as the business develops.
- Knowledge of GxP, MHRA or GDP requirements would be valuable. An existing network of quality or compliance contacts would also be an advantage.
Basic salary: Circa £50,000–£60,000
Bonus: Uncapped commission, with £18,000 commission at the annual revenue target, plus qualifying trailing commission.
Car allowance: £5,000 per annum.
Sector: Healthcare
