Overview
You are applying for the position of Change Manager for company UNSW College. Please fill in your details below to submit an application for this position.
This position is located in: Kensington L5
- Full-time, Fixed Term (12 months)
- Kensington location, close to public transport, 15 minute lightrail to Central
- Hybrid work model, approx. 2 days per week onsite
About the role
As a Change Manager, you will take ownership of technology and data-enabled initiatives, often working independently on projects end-to-end. You’ll be trusted to manage up, influence without authority, and actively contribute to the visibility and credibility of the change function across the College.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in environments that are still being built where frameworks exist, but flexibility, judgement, and initiative matter just as much as process.
You will
- Lead change activities across assigned projects with a high degree of autonomy
- Help define and embed what effective change looks like in a growing organisation
- Build structure where foundations are still forming, without over-engineering
- Partner closely with project teams and business leaders to ensure change is practical, human-centred, and outcomes-focused
- Actively contribute to promoting the value of change management across the organisation
What makes this role different
- Team oriented, yet autonomous – You’ll own your work and be trusted to make decisions, however you will also be working within a team and expected to collaborate and champion each other to achieve goals.
- Creative space – There is genuine room to experiment, test ideas, and apply change in practical, meaningful ways
- Fast-paced and action-oriented – Ideas move quickly into action
- Less rigid, more real – This is hands-on change management, not box-ticking
- Leadership – You’ll report to an experienced leader who is encouraging, challenges your thinking, encourages exploration, and creates space for learning and growth
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong initiative and confidence in ambiguous environments – someone who doesn’t wait for everything to be defined before getting started.
You’ll likely bring:
- Proven experience delivering internal change in complex or evolving environments
- Confidence working independently and managing multiple stakeholders
- Strong judgement and the ability to “manage up” effectively
- A practical, people-centred approach to change
- Comfort building structure and clarity when things are still taking shape
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Familiarity with change frameworks (e.g. PROSCI) and project methodologies
- Tertiary qualifications and formal change credentials are desirable, but mindset, capability, and approach are just as important.
Why join UNSW College?
- Prime location – Modern, light-filled offices in Kingsford, just 15 minutes by light rail from Central
- Hybrid working model – Balance focus time at home with meaningful in-person collaboration
- Supportive, values-driven culture – People are encouraged to think differently and contribute ideas
- Extra leave – 3 gifted (paid) days over the end-of-year shutdown
- Professional development – Up to 50% discount on UNSW Sydney study (conditions apply)
- Wellbeing benefits – Access to Fitness Passport and discounted gym memberships
