Are you an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner ready to shape the future of unscheduled care? The Division of Acute Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and qualified ANP to join our innovative, forwardâthinking team. This is a unique 12âmonth fixedâterm secondment opportunity to embed yourself within a friendly and supportive multiâdisciplinary environment, working closely with established nursing and medical colleagues.
Dual Impact
- Acute Medicine Offer Care (AMIA/RAAC/DVT/GP LINE/103)
As a core member of the AMU team, you will significantly enhance the patient journey by:
- Elevating the quality of care and improving patient outcomes during their hospital stay.
- Providing crucial support to senior medical, trainee and ANP staff to ensure seamless continuity and efficiency in service delivery.
- Contributing directly to the department's continued success and the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
You will be integral to our specialised 24/7 FNC team, pioneering the "Right Care, Right Place" model championed by the Scottish Government. Leveraging telephone and "Near Me" technology, your role involves:
- Conducting direct patient assessments to optimise case decisions.
- Significantly reducing unnecessary Accident & Emergency (A&E) presentations.
- Advising on the necessary course of action, including selfâcare, faceâtoâface review, specialist input or sameâday hospital assessment.

Who is an exceptional team player and autonomous practitioner with the following credentials:
- Essential Qualifications: Independent NonâMedical Prescribing (IP) â qualification is mandatory. MSc or PgDip in Advanced Practice (MSc completion expected aides).
- Experience: Extensive ANP/NP clinical experience, ideally spanning Acute Medicine, Emergency Care and/or Primary Care.
- Autonomous Practice: Demonstrated high standards of clinical care, confidence in making sound autonomous decisions, and excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
