The Engineering Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery and execution of multiple concurrent engineering projects within CXE. The role acts as a central coordination point across engineering activities, ensuring that delivery is aligned, progress is maintained, and risks are actively managed. This position combines multi-project delivery leadership, cross-project engineering execution, and organisational coordination, requiring continuous prioritisation and oversight across multiple parallel workstreams.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Multi-Project Delivery Management
    • Own and manage multiple concurrent projects, each with full delivery accountability
    • Establish and maintain project cadence (technical status, programme reviews, planning syncs)
    • Track and manage execution, risks, issues, defects, and change requests
    • Own and maintain delivery tracking structures (e.g. epics, plans, status reporting)
    • Coordinate planning and alignment with Technical Leads and Solution Architects
    • Perform resource planning and allocation across projects
    • Deliver structured reporting and status updates to leadership
    • Track milestones, deliverables, and readiness for key events
    • Ensure delivery assurance, quality, and timeline adherence across all projects
  • Cross-Project Engineering Execution
    • Ensure integration and system readiness across multiple projects
    • Drive verification coverage and system-level validation activities
    • Coordinate regression, simulation, and build readiness across workstreams
    • Oversee triage, debugging, and resolution of cross-project issues
    • Own qualification and release validation activities
    • Balance priorities across competing project demands
    • Maintain visibility of dependencies, risks, and execution gaps across the portfolio
    • Ensure continuous coverage of critical engineering activities across projects
  • Organisation-Level Responsibilities
    • Drive engineering consistency and standardisation of workflows
    • Lead cross-team coordination activities to maintain alignment across projects
    • Support delivery of cross-project outputs and organisational deliverables
    • Maintain visibility and alignment with leadership on delivery status and risks
    • Oversee shared engineering environments and infrastructure readiness
    • Drive adoption of best practices, efficient processes, and continuous improvement

EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience delivering complex engineering programmes across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Strong technical background in embedded systems, system integration, and engineering delivery
  • Proven track record of leading execution across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Experience influencing technical direction, delivery strategy, and prioritisation at programme level
  • Strong capability in risk management, trade-off decisions, and delivery optimisation
  • Experience providing technical and execution leadership without requiring direct control of all resources
  • Ability to drive alignment across stakeholders at different levels of the organisation

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Degree or better in Electronic Engineering, Computer science, or related subject
  • 8+ years experience in embedded software/firmware development
