Job Details We are currently recruiting for an R&D Senior Scientist with extensive experience in cell biology-based tests and expertise as a SME in biocompatibility. The role involves supporting medical device development, working with stakeholders, providing technical support to R&D, and managing direct reports. The position reports to the R&D Manager and is based in Winsford. Key Responsibilities What will this role involve? Performing cell biology assays such as cell viability, scratch assays, cell model setup, imaging, ELISA, anti-inflammatory screening, cytotoxicity, and MMP sequestration. Developing, optimizing, and validating new test methods for R&D projects. Acting as an SME in biocompatibility, generating, reviewing, and approving documentation for new and existing products. Managing and motivating direct reports within the R&D team. Accurately recording data following GLP and R&D procedures. Correlating findings with literature and conducting literature research. Maintaining the Tissue Culture Laboratory in a compliant state, ensuring materials, reagents, cell lines, and equipment are in stock, calibrated, and validated. Ensuring compliance with cell biology practices and standards. Authoring and approving scientific protocols, reports, publications, and presentations. Supporting regulatory submissions and marketing collateral. Participating actively in departmental meetings and contributing to continuous improvement. Adopting high standards of GLP and H&S in laboratories. What we\’re looking for? Degree in Biological Sciences or related field. Experience with a broad range of in-vitro cellular assays. Experience in biocompatibility is desirable. Management experience. Ability to apply regulations independently. Effective collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
