Role Description
Based at our Plymouth site; this position oversees quality management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and internal procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing quality audits, leading investigations into nonconformances, coordinating corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining documentation to support regulatory and customer requirements. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with manufacturing, R&D, and regulatory teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality and processes. The role also involves training team members on quality standards, monitoring key quality metrics, and supporting successful product launches and ongoing production.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality management within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory standards (such as ISO 13485), and risk management practices.
- Experience planning and conducting internal and external audits and managing corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Ability to analyse data, interpret quality metrics, and implement process improvements to enhance product reliability and compliance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and lead quality-focused initiatives.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in documentation and report writing.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as engineering, life sciences, or quality management) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is beneficial.
