Job Purpose
Your primary focus will be to work as part of the Engineering team, providing support to manufacturing with machine setup, equipment breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
What will this role involve?
- Follows all safety procedures in accordance with industry and AMS requirements.
- Supports the manufacturing team in the setup and verification of equipment following product changeovers.
- Timely reaction to electrical, mechanical and pneumatic faults ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Monitors machine performance, including output, in process quality and waste, addressing and escalating issues as and when they occur.
- Ensures the timely execution of Planned Maintenance (PM) activities.
- Proactively contributes to machine and process improvements to help maximise equipment output, reduce changeover times and improve waste.
- Supports the engineering team with new equipment installations.
- Works with cross functional teams to promote Continuous Improvement activity, including 6S and waste reduction.
- Ensures good communication and relevant information sharing with other shifts and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates flexibility to work additional hours as required to support business needs.
What we’re looking for?
- Relevant engineering qualification (ONC, NVQ3).
- Electrical / Mechanical knowledge and experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Hands on knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team with a flexible approach.
- Knowledge and understanding of H&S, including hazard identification and near miss.
- Experience of a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment advantageous.
