AMS is seeking a data-focused professional to join as a Data Warehouse Developer to support a digital transformation initiative. This role drives design, development, and implementation of our data warehouse solution to enable dynamic BI dashboards and insightful reports for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Data Warehouse Design & Architecture - Design, develop, and implement secure, robust, and scalable data warehouse solutions and integrations by defining and executing the overall architecture, including schema design and storage structures.
- ETL/ELT Development - Build and maintain robust data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from multiple source systems.
- Data Modelling & Integration - Create and optimise dimensional models for analytics and reporting and integrate data sources into a unified, governed and secure repository.
- BI Development - Provide clean, analytics-ready datasets for BI tools by writing complex database queries, stored procedures, and functions that robustly support analytics and reporting needs.
- Data Governance - Ensure that data remains accurate, secure, compliant, and accessible to permitted users.
- Provide technical support for company forecasting.
- Performance Tuning & Maintenance - Conduct regular data health checks, capacity planning and monitoring performance & tuning for the warehouse & BI environments.
- Perform technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and consultation to ensure the smooth running of applications used within the AMS Group of companies, responding to technical problems in a timely manner.
- Work with external suppliers to resolve technical issues when required.
- Be an advocate for best practices with data.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and compliance with organisational standards.
- Create and update any relevant documentation associated with system changes.
- Proactively seek out areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance BI capabilities and user experience.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Open mind and willingness to learn new technologies and support other systems and applications used within the AMS Group of companies.
- Passion for Data Warehousing.
- Experience with Data Warehousing Tools (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Big Query, Fabric).
- Solid experience working with SQL-based databases (MS SQL and/or Oracle).
- Advanced SQL and/or PL/SQL skills.
- Experience working with data governance and data quality.
- Proven capability designing and maintaining ETL / ELT processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, and strong enough to say no to requests when necessary.
- A critical thinker, with ability to think both detail- and big-picture oriented and a 'can do' attitude.
- Strong experience with BI reporting technologies (Qlik Sense, Power BI, or Tableau).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Python.
- Understanding of Firewalls and IT Security.
