Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a QC Technician at our Advanced Wound Care Facility in Winsford, Cheshire. The role is permanent.

As part of our Quality Control team, you will be responsible for undertaking vital tests that support the production process of our world‑leading medical products. You will also be providing technical support to new product development and research, as well as ensuring that quality procedures are adhered to.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is willing to learn within a growing medical business. You will be working as part of a wider team to support the wider business when required. It is crucial to ensure our products are effective, safe for patients and clinicians to use, making this role an important part of our business.

The main role can be varied but is based around our analytical laboratory where we use various testing equipment in both our physical testing and wet chemistry areas.

What will this role involve?

  • Execute protocols and generate reports as required supporting QC analytical.
  • Prepare in‑house reagents for QC analytical.
  • Promote and uphold quality requirements within manufacturing and other departments as required.
  • Take responsibility for organising the workload through the laboratory with due regard to safety and accuracy, ensuring minimal delay and appropriate prioritisation of samples.
  • Enter data into appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
  • Book in laboratory chemicals and reagents.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and wash glassware.
  • Ensure all testing is carried out to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all data generated is managed through the laboratory smoothly and contains all information necessary to allow a true and accurate interpretation of results. Information must be completed and entered within deadlines of work completion.
  • Raise laboratory investigations when required.
  • Order and restock equipment for all QC analytical tests.
  • Check and counter‑sign others’ work.
  • Support other QC functions as required, including receipt/inspection and product release.

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • HNC in Chemistry or relevant subject desired but not essential.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
  • Ability to analyse test results and present a report.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexibility in work scheduling and business needs.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and presenting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment.
  • Computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes, ERP systems).
  • Experience with AAS an advantage.
