Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a 1st line or school-based IT support role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and manage time across multiple locations
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
- Friendly, calm, and professional attitude when working with staff and students
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above or equivalent professional IT qualification (e. g. Comp TIA, Microsoft certification)
- Installation and configuration of IT hardware and software
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and above
- Experience with Windows Server (2012 R2 and above)
- Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
- Office 365 admin experience, including Exchange Online and Power Shell
- Basic hardware and networking troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver on‑site technical support at a primary school and rotate across a cluster of nearby schools as scheduled.
- Provide 1st line support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Install and configure IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom AV systems.
- Troubleshoot common issues with Windows, Office 365, and general networking (DNS, DHCP, file permissions).
- Maintain school IT systems including updates, backups, and user account management via Active Directory.
- Assist with mobile device management, including Apple and Windows‑based systems.
- Collaborate with AITs wider technical team to escalate complex issues when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment used, and issues resolved.
- Travel between sites as part of a scheduled support rota (mileage covered where applicable).
