Salary: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour (DOE)

Shifts: Rotating shifts (6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm)

Auxo Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for two experienced Laser Cutting Operators to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected employer that values quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.

As a Laser Cutting Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring components are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machinery to manufacture components in line with production schedules and engineering drawings.
  • Safely load and unload raw materials and finished products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Carry out machine set-ups, tooling changes, and adjustments where required.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance, identify faults, and report production issues promptly.
  • Complete production documentation and records accurately.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support production targets and business objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • A reliable, flexible, and positive attitude.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
  • FLT licence and/or overhead crane experience.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
